The International Higher Diploma in Business Information Technology is designed to equip you with strong knowledge of IT with business management to suit you to work in a modern business environment. The area of study includes HR management, business strategy, marketing, IT project management, operating systems, GUI design, professional ethics and security issues in the business environment.

B3101: Human Resource Management
This module demonstrates how Human Resource impacts both individual and organizations. It enables the students to develop competencies that will help tomorrow’s organizations create a sustainable competitive advantage through people. The module is also designed to equip students with general people management skills and it examines human resources management issues within a global context.
B3102: Business Strategy
This module provides knowledge and tools that today’s most successful firms use to build a business and consistently outperform the competition. Students will learn from both successes and failures as they examine the impact of business strategy in familiar firms and learn from the mistakes of those who failed to apply the strategic process. It provides guides to students through creating a strong strategy, planning for success, implementing responsive action, competing effectively with strategy, analyzing the environment and firm and most importantly improving upon results.
B3201: Marketing
This module shows how marketing principles affect day-to-day lives as well as its significant influence on business decisions. It explores key marketing concepts and shows how they are applied to today’s business practices. This module also includes topics on social marketing phenomenon, entrepreneurship, C.R.M., global perspectives, and ethics, as well as in-depth discussions on key tools of the trade, such as metrics and the marketing plan. The module will teach students how to think about their own decisions in the consumer marketplace.
C3203: Professional Ethics and Security
This module introduces concepts of the ethical use of the computer system. It provides a wider perspective when it comes to securing computers as well as that of the privacy of the users. This module also enhances a student’s ability to adapt to the various security operations and procedures applied by most industries and computer-based organizations.
C3103: Graphical User Interface Design
This module is designed to provide the students with a roadmap to the world of interface and interaction designs. Students will learn UI best practices and reusable ideas as design patterns, as well as how to provide solutions to common design problems that students can tailor to the situation at hand.
C3104: Operating Systems
This module examines the design of operating systems and how it manages resources and provides services. This module helps students understand the structure of processes and threads and how it is synchronized and scheduled. It also broadens students’ understanding of the organization of memory and the basics of file system construction in modern operating systems.
C3201: IT Project Management
This module is designed to let students acquire the right project management skills needed to better manage future IT projects. IT Project Management module covers basic concepts of IT Project Management, including initiating, planning, controlling, executing and closing projects. It allows the student to fully understand the foundation IT Project Management life cycle. This module also shows how IT projects should be managed, from inception to post-implementation review.
C3204: Project
Higher diploma students are required to work on a graduation project in the final semester. Students have to form a group of four to work on the project. A supervisor will be assigned to the group by the school or the students may arrange for their own supervisor of their choice. Under the supervision of the supervisor, the group has to propose the project to the course coordinator. Once approved, a unique project group number will be assigned and students may begin to work on the project.
