The Advanced Diploma in Digital Business Strategy and Management is designed to equip learners with advanced knowledge and practical skills to lead and manage digital business initiatives in a rapidly evolving global environment. Building upon foundational competencies in e-business and entrepreneurship, this programme focuses on strategic thinking, data-informed decision-making, and digital innovation. Students will explore how to design and manage effective digital operations, leverage analytics to guide business decisions, and lead teams through digital transformation.

At the end of the course, students will be ready to enter the workforce or or pursue further academic progression into undergraduate degree programmes in business management, digital business, or entrepreneurship.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

DB301 Digital Business Strategies and Operations

In today’s fast-evolving digital economy, organizations must align their operations with strategic digital initiatives to remain competitive. This module introduces learners to the core principles and frameworks of digital business strategy and its integration with operational processes. It provides a comprehensive understanding of how digital technologies transform business models, customer engagement, internal processes, and competitive landscapes. Learners will explore real-world case studies and apply strategic thinking to evaluate and develop digital business strategies that drive innovation and operational efficiency.

DB302 Business Analytics for Decision-Making

In an increasingly data-driven business landscape, the ability to make informed and timely decisions is critical for strategic advantage. This module equips learners with the foundational knowledge and practical skills in business analytics to support evidence-based decision-making. It covers the full analytics lifecycle—from data collection and visualization to predictive and prescriptive analytics. Learners will explore how organizations use data to uncover insights, forecast trends, optimize operations, and support strategic planning. The module emphasizes hands-on practice using tools and case studies from multiple business domains.

DB303 Human Resource Management for Digital Enterprises

This module introduces learners to modern human resource management (HRM) practices tailored for digital and tech-enabled organizations. It explores how HR functions such as recruitment, performance management, training, and employee engagement are evolving in the digital era. With a focus on managing hybrid and remote teams, learners will examine HR’s role in shaping culture, supporting innovation, and aligning workforce strategy with business goals. Case studies and practical scenarios help learners apply HR concepts in digitally driven workplaces.

DB304 Managing and Leading People

People are at the heart of every successful digital business strategy. This module explores the principles and practices of managing and leading people in modern, digitally-enabled organizations. It emphasizes the development of leadership capabilities, understanding of team dynamics, and effective people management techniques that foster engagement, innovation, and high performance. Learners will examine contemporary leadership theories, emotional intelligence, change management, and strategies for leading diverse and remote teams. The module prepares learners to become effective managers and transformational leaders who can align people with strategic goals in a dynamic business environment.

DB305 Fundamentals of Organizational Behaviour

Understanding human behavior within organizations is essential for building productive, ethical, and adaptable workplaces. This module introduces learners to the core concepts and theories of organizational behaviour (OB), exploring how individuals, teams, and organizational structures interact. Learners will study the psychological and sociological aspects of work, including motivation, perception, communication, group dynamics, organizational culture, and change. The module prepares learners to analyse behaviour at different levels—individual, group, and organizational—and apply OB principles to improve workplace effectiveness and employee well-being.

DB306 Digital Business Design and UX

In the digital economy, customer experience is a key differentiator for business success. This module focuses on the principles of digital business design and user experience (UX), emphasizing how well-designed digital products and services can enhance customer engagement, usability, and satisfaction. Learners will explore the relationship between digital strategy, user-centred design, and business performance. Through hands-on activities, they will learn to map customer journeys, build wireframes, evaluate usability, and design interfaces that align with user needs and business goals.

DB307 Project Management

Effective project management is essential for driving successful business initiatives, especially in the digital era where projects are increasingly complex, agile, and cross-functional. This module introduces learners to the fundamental principles, methodologies, and tools of project management, with a strong emphasis on practical application in digital business environments. From initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure, learners will gain hands-on experience in managing projects using modern frameworks such as Agile and traditional approaches like Waterfall. This module also highlights the importance of communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk management in ensuring project success.

DB308 Introduction to Accounting and Financial Reporting

This module introduces learners to the fundamentals of accounting and financial reporting, focusing on how businesses record, summarize, and present financial information. Students will gain practical experience in preparing basic financial statements and understanding how these statements inform decision-making and compliance. The module emphasizes accounting literacy and the use of software tools to manage business finances.

DB309 Financial Management for Small Businesses

This module equips learners with essential financial management skills to support planning, control, and decision-making in small and digital businesses. It covers budgeting, cash flow management, profitability analysis, and financial decision-making processes. Learners will explore how to manage resources efficiently, assess financial risks, and evaluate funding options for sustainable business growth, especially in the startup and SME context.
