Overview

The main goal of the DES is to prepare graduating students to be ready in modern business environment. The DES will provide essential set of skills in communication, interpersonal skills, ethics, sales, and marketing, and use of IT in modern office.  

Objectives

At the end of the course, students will be able to

  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Understand work ethics and etiquette
  • Prepare persuasive CV and ready for job interviews
  • Understand network devices and aware of security issues in office environment
  • Understand sales and marketing processes
  • Plan and implement digital marketing

Course Details

DES01 – English for Workplace

At the end of this module, student must be able to

  1. Converse effectively about the workplace environment using proper English
  2. Understand telephone techniques in office environment
  3. Compose letters and formal reports for the job

DES02 – Business Communication

At the end of this module, students must be able to

At the end of this module, student must be able to

  4. Demonstrate organizational skills during the class-room activities
  5. Understand fundamentals of sales.

DES04 – ICT Skills

At the end of this module, student must be able to

  3. Create templates for office letters and presentations
  4. Crete sales reports using Excel and PowerPoint
  5. Create product brochures and presentations for advertising
  6. Code a given algorithm into a running application.

DES05 – Digital Marketing

At the end of this module, student must be able to

  3. Understand important factors affecting search engine ranking of a website
  4. Create content plans for social media platform
  5. Understand how to handle negative comments on social media
  6. Measure the performance of marketing campaign using analytics
